Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models of hull structures and structural elements in SolidWorks.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and production documentation.
• Support calculations related to strength, stability, buoyancy, loads, and weight balance.
• Participate in technical decisions related to the installation and integration of mechanisms, systems, and equipment.
• Work closely with adjacent engineering and production teams.
• Support projects through the key stages of development, from concept and detailed design to production handover.
• Ensure that design documentation is accurate, technically justified, and ready for manufacturing.

Requirements

• Practical experience as a Shipbuilding Design Engineer, Hull Design Engineer or similar.
• Experience with hull structures, vessel components, or structural elements in shipbuilding / marine engineering.
• Strong experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
• Understanding of strength, stability, buoyancy, loads, weight balance, and structural behavior of vessels.
• Experience preparing working drawings, specifications, and production-oriented engineering documentation.
• Ability to participate in technical discussions related to mechanisms, systems, and equipment integration.
• Ability to work with complex technical tasks and collaborate with adjacent engineering teams.
• High attention to detail, responsibility for documentation quality, and a practical engineering mindset.
• Readiness to work with confidential technical information.

Nice to have

• Degree in Shipbuilding, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience supporting projects at different production stages.
• Experience preparing documentation according to shipbuilding documentation standards.
• Experience working directly with engineering, design, and production teams.
